The department of Social and Community Development for Zambia Baptist Association (ZBA), exists to contribute to the enhancement and promotion of health livelihood for community members in localities where ZBA member churches exist. The department runs community programs for identified most vulnerable Community Members. Once identified, program beneficiaries get equipped with life and social skills to help them withstand life pressures. Survival ventures are established in order to deal with difficulty times mainly arising from high rates of unemployment and Chronic Conditions such as HIV/AIDs, Strokes and TB, later ending up with poverty.
Some skills imparted to them include Psycho-social skills such as Good Communication, Creativity, and Innovativeness, gardening by God’s way and Income Generation Activities (IGAs). The main IGAs ventured into include Savings and Small loans Schemes which run parallel with farming, gardening and other small businesses which beneficiaries engage in.
Programs
These range from Good character enhancement to empowerment programs especially those that facilitate formation of good life values both in parents and children between ages of 7 – 18 years.
